Someone suggested self hypnosis - does it really work?

Cheerleader getting what she wants by inspiring you
'Getting what you want in life'
When we think of hypnosis we often think of or remember the on stage shows of Derren Brown, Émile Coué de la Châtaigneraie, The Amazing Kreskin, - or the native witchdoctor and their spells.

Those all change peoples behaviour responses to the showman/shamans intonations or command.

When you see what is happening you can make the technique work easily - and do it for you to help you.

It is a simple 4 step system, with an invocation by someone in authority. In this case the authority of you is going to be you.

It's claimed to fix any health, love, weight, or money - any problem you have in fact. If you have a big problem- see your local licensed professional.

What is does and will do - is change your response to triggers or events - if you have a good teacher.

You are better with a program without direct person contact initially, some therapists are in a guru mentality, and may take advantage of you.

One 4 step system (with a guarantee)
Step 1. CLEARING This is a hypnotic recording that allows the release of negative energy and influence in general. An  imagery used is that you are lying in a most pleasant stream of water. You are asked to conceptualize how you want to be.

Step 2. HYPNOSIS This recording will take you as deep into hypnosis as you want.
At the deepest level you are given hypnotic suggestions identical to the suggestions that relate to the other parts.

Step 3.  SUBLIMINAL
Brings growth into the suggestions (effective while you do other things).

Step 4. SLEEP LEARNING Continues the suggestions effect while you sleep;- the committment of action is the reinforcer here.

Other styles follow similar ways - and given time to experiment - you can even learn to do it for others.

Like everything, it is uncommon for bags of gold, or whatever you want to directly fall from the empty sky- you must move towards it or them with some activity, to make sure it works for you.

Having done years of sleep tapes alone, my advice would be a short sleep tape as you go to sleep--not the mass media TV-- and only a short one so your body can recover and rebuild while you sleep.
Then on awakening try for quietness -use that time for reading something helpful/inspiring or for your own thoughts. You may have to awake several minutes early.

Doing your self hypnosis exercises mid-morning, or mid-afternoon - while you can stay awake after, seems to have the fastest results.

Thinking right - appreciating and living with yourself

dance as if you mean it while liking yourself
The value and power of action to inspire
We all have certain habits and ways of thinking about the world that are the right ways, at least for me.

  • When I make a friend, I do everything to keep the friendship going and to be a friend to them.
  • If I get a book, I always read and try to understand the contents.
  • If I start something, I always make sure that I finish it, as best I can.
  • I like to exercise, and if I buy some exercise equipment, I read the manual and I use the equipment as recommended.
  • If I buy a vehicle, I take care of it, and make sure it is always in the best condition possible; I do all I can to maintain it properly.
  • If I buy some clothes, I read the label, and care for them.
  • And so on....

We need to really appreciate what we have today, whether it is an asset or ourselves (and one would hope we consider ourselves an asset).

One of the most important things in life you can do is to proceed towards your dreams.
Your dream could be something material like owning an car, home, or boat, - or it could be spending your time (or life) with a certain type of person.

What happens, however, when someone achieves his or her dream? Regardless of how your life is going, for sure there are many dreams you have already accomplished. But, once you achieve your goals, what then?

Many of us have had the experience of starting on the road to fulfilling our dreams - somewhere that we think is going to make us happy, and then when we get there, what now???.

Not being happy, because our lives may not have really changed in a way we'd hoped for, after achieving that one dream.

The secret here;- is that it was part of the dream, that you achieved - there is more -relax and move on with it.

An often result seen, is of taking someone, be it ourselves or another for granted- is less care and attention given:- much like an apparently discarded car.

Enjoy what you have now, as this appreciation or gratitude will attract more to your life.

Value your dreams, goals, and aspirations both while you are on the journey, and as you achieve them.

If you dream of doing something, keep moving, keep moving.-never stop short of the finish line - while maintaining the thought in your mind that 'I am OK.'

Will Hagar save me ? Stereotypes of people and them matching what we expect of them

Hagar's re-constructors - Your life story as you choose it to be
Your life story as you choose it to be
Choose any well written story and its cast of characters as your own.

This is one of the ways of defining - or redefining your life.

Think back to your most remembered childhood story or cartoon, the one you remember the most.....

  • What does it do for you when you recall it in your mind?
  • What do you feel?
  • And.....
  • Think how does this shape my philosophy today?
  • How can I choose a better story?

Let's take a modern classic-

Hägar

And look at the characters -From wikipedia-

".......Hägar Horrible: the slovenly, overfed Viking protagonist. Hägar is both a fierce warrior and a family man—with the same problems as your average modern suburbanite. One running gag involves his exceptionally poor personal hygiene; for example, his annual bath -July 14- is a time of national rejoicing and celebrations. Another source of comedy is Hägar's simplistic, childlike cluelessness, often finding himself at odds with his more sensible family members. Much to Hägar's chagrin, on the few occasions where he behaves maturely (such as helping Helga in daily tasks or displaying self-control of his titanic appetite), the other characters are often caught off guard, since they are more accustomed with his bumbling and childish attitude. The most notable example was when Helga demanded that Hägar speak the truth at least one time, Hägar agrees and does so, something that pleasantly surprises even God himself, who promptly makes angels playing the trumpets in celebration of this "miracle".

Helga Horrible:Hägar's large-framed, bossy housewife, dressed in operatic, Brünnhilde - like blonde braids and helmet. She is the quintessential maternal "over-mothering" figure. Helga bickers with Hägar over his poor habits—such as forgetting to wash his hands after pillaging, or not wiping his feet before entering the hovel. She is often seen trying to teach her old-fashioned values to her daughter Honi, though Honi never truly "gets" it. Her formidable appearance is based on that of a Wagnerian Valkyrie.

Lucky Eddie: Hägar's first mate, best friend and lieutenant in Viking raids. Contrary to popular depictions of Vikings as brawny macho warriors, Eddie is a short, skinny, chinless, awkward and naïve weakling. The ironically-named "Lucky" Eddie is, in fact, so unlucky he can be crushed by a stray rainbow. He wears a funnel rather than a helmet on his head, which he always keeps on because he's afraid of squirrels. Unlike Hägar, Eddie is educated enough to be able to read and speak in other languages—though paradoxically this does not make him any more intelligent. Having been unconditionally known and accepted simply by his moniker of "Lucky Eddie," no one of Hägar's entourage, not even Hägar himself, ever knew Lucky Eddie's "real" name until around the late-1990s & early-2000s, when he was asked directly (by Hägar himself on both separate occasions) to share his true name: during the first inquiry Eddie squawked out an unpronounceable screed which left him raw-throated and winded; during the second inquiry, in which Eddie asked for Hägar's assurance that this revelation would be kept "in confidence," Eddie whispers his "real" name into Hägar's ear, upon hearing which Hägar accidentally blurts out what was shared with him in secret in a fit of uncontrollable laughter, thus inadvertently revealing that Lucky Eddie's real name is "Fortuitous Eduardo."

Hamlet Horrible: Hägar and Helga's intelligent, clean, obedient and studious young son—almost always seen reading a book. He shows no interest in becoming a Viking (he wants to be a dentist), which makes him the shame of the family to Hägar—though Helga and Honi are more tolerant and encourage his education. Even when Hägar forces him to practice his Viking skills, he's shown to be terrible at them. He is the victim of his would-be girlfriend Hernia's unrequited affection.

Honi Horrible:Hägar and Helga's beloved, beautiful, sweet, cheerful 16-year old daughter—dressed as a young Valkyrie with a winged helmet, metallic breastplate and a long skirt made of chainmail. Honi takes after Hägar's side of the family, a fact that her boyfriend Lute sometimes finds intimidating. She's a Viking warrior like her father, her weapons of choice are a spear and shield. However, she's clueless about traditional "girlish" things, and tends to be overdramatic. Helga is constantly trying to marry her off, as she's seen as an "old maid" in their backward community. She was romantically involved with Lute the balladeer from the very beginning, and is the only character that can endure his terrible singing.

Lute: an inept bard/minstrel/troubadour who can neither play, sing in tune nor rhyme properly, although Lute remains totally oblivious to everyone else's perception, and considers himself quite the talent. He is Honi's boyfriend, though Honi is in control of their relationship (similar to Helga and Hägar); they are perpetually engaged though they still haven't married. His name is in reference to the stringed instrument of the same name, which he is often seen playing (albeit poorly).

Hernia: a young, tomboyish girl deeply infatuated with the sensitive Hamlet, though her love is unrequited, often to her comically melodramatic dismay.

Snert: Hägar's dog; Snert is supposed to be a bird/hunting dog, but the reader gets the impression that most of the time he just doesn't feel like working. Snert understands everything Hägar tells him, but usually refuses to do what he's told. Sometimes Snert is depicted as having a "wife" and a couple of puppies, but they hardly play any role in the comic. Snert wears a (miniature) Viking helmet like everyone else in Hägar's household—including the pets. Snert barks with a Viking accent ("voof").

Kvack: the family's German duck. Kvack is Helga's friend and confidante—she will usually spy on Hägar and quack loudly whenever he does something he's not supposed to, such as having another hogshead of "Glögg[10]" or "Wiffleberry wine", Hägar's frequently-imbibed beverages. Obviously, Hägar doesn't like Kvack at all—and would like to get rid of her. Being a German duck, Kvack "quacks" with an accent.[11] Later in the strip, she brought home a litter of ducklings, which Helga "mothers" as if they were human grandchildren.

Dr. Zook: a cowled, druid-like "physician" who gives primarily nutritional and psychiatric advice, and is a notorious and dangerous quack. He always wears a hood that conceals his face except for his long nose which sticks out. On few occasions, however, his face has at least partially been seen.
Helga's Father: a geriatric Viking whose beard reaches the floor, with a taste for young women.
Helga's Mother: a stereotypically shrewish mother-in-law, with antlers on her helmet.
The Tax Collector: The King's officious emissary.
Mr. Giggles: a torturer who torments captives by forcible tickling.
Koya the Lawyer: an unpleasant but effective barrister.
The Executioner: often accompanies the Tax Collector.
Brother Olaf: a monk who unsuccessfully explains to Hägar the concept of sin

Other recurring minor characters include an unnamed psychic or soothsayer, whom Honi and Hägar regularly consult, a balding waiter at Helga's favorite restaurant "The King of England" and various Anglo-Saxon raiders who serve as Hägar's friends and rivals, such as Dirty Dirk and Mean Max.

Enjoy the silver spoon

The sun rises on our success - seeing a symbol and using it to help
The sun rises on our success
To use a symbol as a talisman.

The story follows-

Early spoons were made of wood, the word 'spoon,' in fact, said to arise from the Anglo-Saxon spon, 'a chip of wood.'

Many people used pewter spoons, but traditionally, especially among the wealthy, godparents have given the gift of a silver spoon to their godchildren at christening ceremonies.

Note the symbols of;-wealth, protection and the beginning of life in the big world.

The custom is centuries old throughout Europe- noted authors mention it as far back as the 1600's.

Often denigrated as only affordable only by rich persons,-with a negative journalistic inference, it's more likely that the spoon has come to symbolize wealth.

Choose it for yourself- the bringing of a object; be it a silver spoon, the sun, or a unique mark to your conscious thought will remind you of your path.
Many people use other's symbols-it is better for you to have one of your own as well.

Keep it private-if you are asked-"it is a lucky charm"

Exercise:You can buy or make a talisman or charm, either to carry or to place somewhere important. Get one posted from Amazon, or go to the local dollar store. It does-not have to be expensive - it is a talisman or symbol - a selected or chosen object to remind you of your good and helpful thoughts. Re-read the silver spoon post here.
If you can, make something, or a 2 or 3 of them, the process, meditation, and thinking while making will work wonders.
Put the charm were you see it each morning and night - if not carried with you if small.

If a situation turns to an unwanted one - revise, and bring out the talisman again.
